What are some facts proving the vikings were the first to discover north america?
I have a history debate on who was the first to discover north america. My group got the vikings the others got aliens and chinese or somethin. Im looking for some hardcore evidence showing they discovered it first.
Viking discovery of North America was definitively proven by Helge Ingstad in 1960, when he discovered Viking settlement in L’Anse aux Meadows (Newfoundland). There is no doubt that the settlement is genuine.
